Day 9--better late than never;-)

blogging in on Wednesday morning while Helper watches Baby Einstein & eats breakfast. . .

Tuesday is a work day and being gone from 6:30 to 6:00 is a very long day on top of teething baby so when she finally fell asleep at 8:00, and woke up at 8:30, and 9:00, I pretty much held her and fell asleep on the couch with her.  So. . .I did my tasks this morning. . .

Our Lemon task was to organize the toys.  Well, you've seen what Eddy's room looks like right now. . .with the playhouse in it. . .so I just cleaned Heidi's toys.  In the Livingroom, Kitchen, and my room there's a basket or tub with some of her toys so that where ever I am working she can play and be happy!

{computer is giving me fits about uploading pics--I'm switching to BIG computer. . .maybe that one will be more cooperative. . .}

The Small Thing for yesterday was to make a weekly schedule--done!

O.K. on to today!

Day 8

Today has been full of challenges.  Not just from my organizational ladies either!  First of all--I am so tired!  Out of the 10 hours or so Lucy Goo spent in bed last night, I think we were awake for at least 15 of them!  She is teething--need I say more?  Secondly, it's a homeschool day.  While I love having the Eddy Boy here and working with him, on a day when Fussy Loo hasn't slept at night and won't sleep during the day and is very clingy and fussy all day, it is very hard to do schoolwork--especially when his room looks like this and he can't go in there to work in peace and quiet:
This wonderful playhouse was a Christmas gift from a friend--but as you can see, we don't have quite enough room for it. . .anywhere in the house.  I am trying to be very patient and let it stay for awhile because the kids love playing in it but soon it must go!  I don't feel so so bad about this because the little girl who gave the gift to him also got one for Christmas and hers didn't last at their house for a week;-)

So the Lemon project for the day was to clean out the coat closet.  We don't have one of those so I cleaned out the hall closet.

before:

 top shelf
 middle shelf
 2nd middle shelf ;-)
 bottom shelf and floor
 after:
 top shelf--vases, salad spinner, tea plates and cups
 carousel, pitcher and glasses, tea tiered serving plate, glass bowls
 baskets and cake holders
 crockpot, extra plates, and big take along containers, and a helper--contained on the stool because she hasn't figured out how to get down yet;-) {she does climb up there herself;-)}
 items cleared out of closet--we are serious coffee drinkers at our house and it grieves my heart to add the coffee pot to this pile but it hasn't been out of the closet in 5 maybe 6 years.  I switched to decaf coffee and now we don't drink enough coffee together to really make a big pot--so sad!
I did not do Flylady's projects for the day because it was just too much but all of these things that were cleared out of the closet added to what was cleared out of the pantry on Saturday add 35 lbs. to Flylady's Super Fling Boogie--yea!!!!  Getting rid of clutter!!!!!!!

The Small Thing for Home Sanctuary was to make a general task list and assign priority #s.  Here's my list:

1--dishes
1--laundry--clothes and towels
4--laundry--bedding
2--menu plans
2--shopping list
2--dust
2--vacuum {spot check daily}
2--sweep and mop floors
2--bathroom
1--daily pick-up
2--paperwork
4--sort baby clothes

5--oven
4--stove top
5--windows
5--bookshelves
4--scrub trashcans

1=daily
2=weekly
3=bi-weekly
4=monthly
5=seasonally spring/fall
6=never gonna happen
Rachel Anne also gave points for doing  minimum maintenance today--read here to find out what that involves.  I already do minimum maintenance in our general living areas because I cannot handle toys and "stuff" out and all over the place.  However, it is especially challenging with little ones on the loose. . .
 seriously, think I did a 5 minute clean-up in here every hour today!  But look--the chaos doesn't affect him one bit!  and he can work unbothered if Goosey Loo is stranded on the stool;-)

Due to a temperamental internet connection, I've been working on this post since 5:15 ish.  I'm done now.  Kiddos are sleeping soundly.  Livingroom is picked up.  Time for a cup of tea and to enjoy the copy of Country Living that came in the mail today!!!!!!!!

It's National Clean Off Your Desk Day!!!!!

It's National Clean Off Your Desk Day but if you've been following A Bowl Full of Lemons or Home Sanctuary your desk was doubly cleaned off last week!

Here's to getting & staying organized!

It's Bubble Bath Day!!!!

Hey Everyone,

It's Bubble Bath Day!!!!  I almost forgot!!!  Time to play games and get the kiddos in a big bubbly bath!!!

Day 7

Today was the pantry.  Good thing I checked out A Bowl Full of Lemons just for fun--I wasn't expecting a project for today!  My pantry needed help though because there's things on that top shelf that have been there for years and you'll have to see what I found on the floor. . .

before:

 ketchup in the cupboard?!?!?!  I had help putting things away from the party last night--and thankful I was for that help, Mom;-)
 my helper. . ."I've only taken out 12 baggies---think I can get 32 more before she's done taking pictures--hurry, hurry!"

 Helper is contained and enjoying lunch while momma finishes up!
 company for lunch--yes, he's in his jammies.  We often live in our jammies on Saturdays;-)
 after:

 Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard is looking kinda bare! and there's a red doorknob too!
 lunch & snack shelf. . .baggies are gone;-)
 old boxes of mostly pasta and stuff to throw away.
 bottom all scrubbed out and clean. . .very tempted to just straighten this one--it was pretty dusty and yucky!
 doorknob back on--hopefully it will stay this time!
 old crockpot that was hiding out in the bottom of the pantry.  It's so nice but I never NEVER use it so it is on the way to Goodwill and the potato is out of hiding and might just try to sprout for our garden in the spring;-)
 Heidi & I changed into pink & brown today for Gwyneth's birthday
I started following her father's blog a while ago:  Confessions of a CF Husband  **Cystic Fibrosis** When I first started reading, Gwyneth's mom had just had a lung transplant and she was born early with all the complications that brings and I was drawn to their family and their story.  So Happy 3rd Birthday, Gwyneth!!!!!  May you and your family have another wonderful, blessed year!

The real day 6

Today I am linking up with Company Girls Coffee.  This is through Home Sanctuary where Rachel Anne gives daily Small Things to help make our homes a sanctuary.

Time to get a fussy girl down for naptime and then on to all the projects for the day.

A Bowl Full of Lemons project for the day done!

my dresser before:  all the material that came out of the linen closet and livingroom closets?  Yep, that's it there at the end of the dresser.  And it all needed to find a new home today so I am very thankful that this project coincided with a MUST do project for the day!
 my unmentionables drawer{gasp}  That's my jammies all wadded up on top.  Sloppy, I know, but in the 5 minutes I have to get dressed it seems to work for now.  Not quite sure how all the old wallets and glasses ended up in this drawer but they did and that's their spot;-)  Also a roll of quarters.  All the quarters that come out of my husband's pocket change I "steal" and that's my mad money.  I know, we're strange that way;-)
 sock and jammie drawer--messy but at least all the socks are together!
 shirt and swimming stuff drawer--now this one is not my fault--truly.  My little helper has found she can open these bottom drawers and "help" take things out.  See the tennis racket and blue shirts on the floor?  She was "helping" empty my hubby's bottom drawer and the closet while I took pictures.
 see? helping!  Stop her fast before she takes out more folded things!!!!!
 finished sock & jammie drawer
 hubby's white Ts and jammies
 colored Ts and shorts--Why aren't all the shirts together?  I'm sure there's a good reason but I can't remember it now. . .
 my shirt and swim stuff drawer, for the moment.  My helper is currently trying to figure out a way to eat the computer cord. . .
 top of dresser now--ah!!!!!!!
 the broken drawer is back in place but very fragilelly--please do not touch!
My room just needs to be vacuumed and it's ready for company tonight.  Let's see what it looks like after the Wii kids get through back here;-)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I'm sadly going to take down all of the Christmas decorations, mostly sad about the pretty lights--sigh!
